Ekobot AB has received a first order for pilot installation from one of Sweden’s largest vegetable growers

Ekobot has received a first order of approximately SEK 360,000 for a pilot installation of its AI-based autonomous robot system intended for the agricultural sector. The installation will take place on Almhaga farm in southern Sweden during the growing season 2022

– We are extremely happy with this order and we see this as a commercial breakthrough in the Swedish market. It is a clear proof of a well-functioning technology and gives an indication that our assumptions regarding pricing towards customers are correct, says the company’s CEO Erik Jonuks

Ekobot’s pilot installation takes place at Almhaga Gård in southern Sweden. Almhaga Gård is one of Sweden’s leading producers of onion. The order has a value of approximately SEK 360,000 and refers to the installation of 2 robot systems on a limited cultivation area and aims to evaluate Ekobot’s robot system under commercial conditions. The evaluation of the results from the pilot installation is expected to be completed during Q3 2022. If the results remain positive, the pilot installation is expected to be converted into commercial contracts by a number of robotic systems for the 2023 growing season.

Tomas Frisk, Marketing and Sales Manager, Ekobot comments on the order:
– Almhaga Gård is an extremely important customer for us in the Swedish market and we look forward to a continued rewarding collaboration. The order bodes well for the continued sale of robot systems in both the Swedish and Dutch markets.
